The Archaeological Museum - First opened in 1970, the museum features pieces from the Neolithic era, the Minoan era and the Greco roman era. One of its famous exhibits is that of goddess of Mirtos, a liberation vessel in for the form of a female figure.
The Folklore Museum - Established in 1985, the folklore museum is located on the ground floor of one of the oldest buildings in town, the port authority building. Here you'll find displays of traditional Cretan handicrafts unique to the region such as textiles, woven goods and embroidery.
Beaches - There are many beaches to choose from in Agios Nikolaos, both sandy and shingle. These include; Almyros Beach, Ammoudi Beach, Municipal Beach Kitroplatia, Votsalo Beach and Havanias Beach
